Home Rockford, Alabama is located at the crossroads
of Coosa County. Located at the intersection
of Alabama Highway 231 and Alabama Highway 22, Rockford is known as the Land between
the Lakes, with Lake Martin only twenty miles to the east, Lake Jordan ten wiles to
the south and Lake Mitchell fifteen miles to the west.
The town of Rockford boast a population of approximately 500 residents, is
the county seat of Coosa County, has several historic sites, and is proud of her rich,
rural heritage. Located within the city limits of Rockford is
the former Parkdale Industries facility, General Dollar, historic Crews Drugs with an old
fashion soda foundation (which is used as a sandwich/short order lunch counter where
everyone gathers during the day), T.J.s
Cafe, Town Hall with a library and Internet access computers, the Old Rockford School
which has been converted into a community center, the old rock jail, and minutes from
Wetumpka, Sylacauga, Alexander City and Clanton. Rockford is a wonderful place to visit, raise a
